Default My cat has strange symptoms?

I have a cat with some kind of illness that I have no idea what it could be. From the tip of her tail, close to the halfway from it is bumpy and hardened and she has a fever and just doesn't want to run around as much as she usually does. She is fairly young cat so I know it can't be anything age related. Can someone help me with a diagnoses?

I agree also..but your cats tail..im not saying GO TO THE VET!..i would look around online make sure she has lost of food and water and just let her rest..and you said that "she doesn't want to run around as much as she usually does" so it not like shes acting totally lathargic or anything right? just leave it for a few days and if things get worse or if you cant find any answers then..yes take her to the vet..Maybe she has an abscess?? does her tail seem to be hurting her?

Hopefully your kitty is alright good luck hope i helped a bit.

Those are some weird symptoms. A fever indicates an infection of some kind. Has she suffered any trauma to her tail recently? A bump could indicate a break. I've also heard of lumps forming on the tail after a severe allergic reaction. Please call a vet, whatever is going on is serious and requires professional input.

**Added** Still Tippin - having a cat with a fever, lethargy, and a weird bumpy tail is a lot more serious than tapeworms. Delilah is 100% correct in recommending that this person go to the vet. Some things can be treated at home, but in this case the cat is obviously very ill and home remedies from strangers on the internet may do more harm than good. And in case you hadn't noticed, you provided even LESS of an answer for this person than Delilah did, you just used their question as a forum for your own rant.

I agree that this cat needs a vet. Fever and lethargy are beyond the scope of home treatment. The tail issue may or may not be related, but the fever and lethargy alone are enough to merit a vet visit. There are too many possible causes to make guessing worthwhile - hopefully it is something simple and can be resolved with some antibiotics and rest.

The problem here is that there's no way of knowing if these 2 symptoms are even related. My guess is that they aren't. She can have calcium deposits on her tail, but the issue here is you have a cat with fever and lethargy. These 2 symptoms can be caused by everything from a simple bacterial infection to feline leukemia.

Whether STill Tippin approves or not is immaterial. Only a vet will be able to diagnose it.

Yes, someone can help with the diagnosis. That someone is your VET. Do you really think that a stranger on Y!A can diagnose your cat sight unseen? Please take her to the vet before it gets any worse.

Still Tippin-how did your answer help the poster? Your answer was simply a rant. Very rude and totally uncalled for.
