my dog has been scratching his behind (on his back, right by his tail) and now has a "hot spot". After shaving the area, what over-the-counter products are safe and effective to put on the wound. Also, is it safe to give him Benadryl to help him stop itching? please keep in mind, i don't really the have the money at this time to take him to the vet, they charge so much just to see him, and then to prescribe the meds..... so if there is some kind of medicine, cream, etc. that can be bought at a local store please help me. thank u.

I've been told that Curash (Curash Babycare - Home) is very effective.
