Last night my dog got into a fight with the neighbors dog that somehow got into our backyard(probablly hole in the fence) he got scuffed up a bit, small puncture wound, but not terrible. I cleaned him up and now everything seems fine. However, later that night we noticed he couldn't 'get up' onto the bed or couch and then started limping from his left front paw, he didn't seem to want to move, and then started trembling. This really scared us. This morning he somehow managed to get on ON the bed, went outside, ate, did his business, no limping. I called the vet first thing, and she told me that unless the wounds had yet to stop bleeding, or if his paw was swollen/broken, then there would be nothing she could do aside from giving him pain relievers, or keep him there a few daysso that he can 'rest'(and since out last visit, we won't be able to afford another visit for a while). He's already on antibiotics(amoxicillin) for a urinary track infection that is clearing up, so i'm not too worried about an infection). He's walking around fine, a little carefully though, but i feel that he seems sad and not as peppy as he normally is. Can i expect this to be normal after a fight like that? My mom always jumps to conclusions, saying that when he acts not so peppy like this, he's "dying" and it really starts to rub off on me. Is my dog just typically bummed out? or should I be worried?
