Am I ready for a horse? I want to half-lease a horse from my riding acadmy. They take full care of the horse all you have to do is wash it. They feed, muck, clip, farrier, and vet the horse. They will also turn out the horse. I usually just ride the school horses but I many half-lease a show horse for $300 a month all of that included and also board is included in that. I ride hunter jumper. I think I'm ready to go for it. If I do lease a horse I would take a private lesson on the days I have him.My qualifications:-I've been riding for 6 or 7 months-Over the summer I did 2 months of camp grooming, tacking, and riding from 8am-4pm-I can groom a horse-I can bathe a horse-I can tack a horse-I take up to 3 private lessons a week at the stable (considered one of the best in CA)-I have all the equipment I need besides a bridle-I spend about 3 hours a day researching horses and how to take care of them-I can walk trot and canter comfortably-I will learn how to jump in before Christmas-My mom also rides at the same placeMy mom says I can half-lease I just want to know what you guys think.yes they take full care of the horse so I figured that it would be a perfect way of learning how to care for a horse. There are many options of horses that I can lease all in early-mid teens and all my level.burdfor, I have the option of half leasing with the riding school so it's the schools for 3 days and mine for 3 days (1 day off so it doesn't get overworked) Or I could half lease one of the actual lease horses the stable has which another rider and me would share the horse, 3 days a week per rider. I would get to chose which days I want to lease.creedmor, I have the option of full leasing but I think half leasing is a better start. |
