Default New Saltwater Aquarium Information Accurate?

I am setting up my first saltwater aquarium and the guy at the aquarium store, who is like a saltwater guru told me to buy Prime water conditioner, said it was the best hands down, and basically conditions the water almost instantly, then gave me a hydrometer and the InstantOcean sea salt, and said I only needed to let the cycle for one day after I mixed in the right amount of salt.

So, I want to ask you, is this right...Prime is the best? and only have to cycle for one day? He told me to come back 24 hours after I mixed the salt and get some fish. At first I thought he didn't know wha the was talking about, but he apparently gives seminars all over the country about aquarium maintenence. Also, he said if my fish die after I followed his instructions, he would take them back for a full refund or credit towards anything else in the store, so I guess cycling for only one day is fine for saltwater? I know it always took me a lot longer for freshwater.

Sidenote - he also said that fish are lower maintenence than corals. Corals require a high salinity in the water, while fish typically want a lower salinity, he said if i am just starting out not to get both, however I really want my tank to look nice. Are anemones hard to manage? I'd like one big Anemone and a clown fish or two.
ON YEAH - He also said that stress coat/enzyme stuff is totally uneccesary for saltwater aquariums and people who buy it don't know what they are doing. Is that right too?
ALSO - He said Protein Skimmers are also uneccesary for saltwater aquariums, and only needed on freshwater aquariums over 55gallons
POSTER'S RESPONSE - Ok so what protein skimmer should I get? a nano/small one since I am only doing this in a 10gal aquarium? How much should I expect to pay?
